Zwaag Dining Chairs from Bako, Set of 4

A beautifully designed set of 4 dining room chairs so we describe set “Zwaag” the very best. Although these seats arise more often online and with colleagues such as Webe / Van Teeffelen, we can now say with certainty that it concerns the seats of manufacturer Bako, since this set is marked at the bottom. This set comes from the first owners who had completely compiled their interior with furniture from Webe and Topform. Men told us that these seats were purchased in the same period and in the same case, which can certainly be true from De Stijl. We do indeed see clear influences in both design and material use of, AWA and Wébé. The designer of service has viewed various seats of these brands and used characteristic elements to achieve a new design. It is not entirely certain whether Louis van Teeffelen has made the design in question, it is in any case inspired. We see a very beautifully and laboriously made Stoelframe of teak wood with a beautiful color and shine. On top of his rounded seats and backrests applied in a slightly colorful vintage fabric. The whole looks “rich” and, when you look at it a little longer, is, in addition to gracefully even impressive in terms of craftsmanship, the sitting position on these seats is very nice. The seats are nicely solid in construction, on the 4 seats a small trail of use is visible here and there. Fortunately, it does very little from the charm of this unique set of vintage seats, which is designed according to the characteristic organic style that characterizes furniture from this period. The fabric is already a few decades old, completely intact and without large areas, buttery in a vintage condition. Nice basis to use immediately, and possibly after a few years to be upholstered with fashion. A wonderful set to use, or to use as a basis.
