By Mitsui Tamekichi the 3rd (?????3?).
Born Mitsui Eiichi in 1935. He met his wife while apprenticing under Kutani master Torijo Kitade, and they would marry in 1961. His wife was the daughter of Tamekichi the 2nd, who bequeathed both the family name and workshop to Mitsui upon his retirement. Mitsui, his wife Nariko, and most of the employees in their shop are also deaf.
The vase is mostly a midnight black glaze and the base is decorated with an orange, wheat-like motif.
Simply a wonderful Kutani vase!
