Mid 20th-Century Crisp White Porcelain Nesting Lotus Bowls With Matching Underplates – 10 Pieces

Sublime and elegant set of crisp white porcelain lotus bowls with matching underplates made in Japan and all the rage from the late 1950s to early 1970s. My mom gave me my first set many years ago and I’ve kept adding over the years. Have used the bowls as prep bowls to hold chopped spices, veggies, etc. while cooking. The bowls with underplates are fabulous to use as sauce/dipping bowls when entertaining. The crisp white color will complement most any dinnerware or serveware you may often use. In excellent condition with little to no wear. The set consists of five bowls with five matching underplates. The bowls feature a ribbed lotus leaf motif on the exterior with smooth interiors. The underplates feature the same ribbed motif as the bowls with an added whimsical sunburst motif pattern in the center of each. Each bowl measures 4½” x 2¼” D/H; capacity per bowl 6 oz.; underplate 5¼” x ½” D/H apiece; together the set weighs 3 lbs. There is no makers hallmark on any of the pieces.
