We sell carefully selected old Japanese items.
I’ve seen tens of thousands of items so far.
Based on that experience, only selected items are posted here.
We are able to do this because of our long experience.
There may be items on the 1stdibs site that look and feel the same, but the items selected by Brood are unique.
This is an old Japanese vase made from bamboo and bark.
In Japan, these tubular objects have been used since ancient times to hang flowers on walls.
This is also a vase made by cutting bamboo and pasting birch bark on the outside.
The surface is coated with lacquer and has a glossy finish.
It has a very beautiful luster.
I think that it is an item made from about the late Meiji period to the early Showa period (1880-1950).
Also, there is a smaller bamboo tube inside this vase, fill it with water, and put the flowers in.
Please note that water leakage will occur if you put water directly into this vase.
This item was owned by a collector who collected antiques and folk crafts that are famous in Japan.
I feel very wabi-sabi.
It is a recommended item.
Even in Japan, it is difficult to obtain such wonderful things.
Few stores in 1stdibs carry such items.
We sell with confidence.
