A very beautiful pair of polychromed Kutani porcelain Japanese vases, circa early 20th century, Meiji period, Japan. Vases are hand painted and designed with two different sides; one side floral, the other with birds and butterflies. Beautiful Art Deco detail in the black, gold and green butterfly as show in close-up image #7. And more beautiful details at neck with cicada sculptures (close-up, image #10.)
